Golf Tournament Raises $41,000 for Atlantic Cape Students

The 2018 Atlantic Cape Community College Scramble “Fore” Scholarships golf tournament raised $41,000 for student aid and Foundation operations. Held Oct. 12 at Cape May National Golf Club in Cape May, the tournament drew nearly 100 players.
Proceeds from the event will be used for scholarships for students attending Atlantic Cape and for Foundation operations. Golf tournament event sponsors included Presenting Sponsor – Cape May National Golf Club, Crest Wealth Management, Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc., Borden Perlman, McMahon Insurance Agency, OceanFirst Bank, Somers Point City Councilman James Toto, Chris Clemans Sotheby’s International Realty, State Farm Insurance – Rob Gleason, UNIVEST Bank & Trust Corporation, Cooper Levenson, Calvi Electric, Cumberland Insurance Group, FIJI Water, Kindle Auto Plaza, La Mer Beachfront Inn, Redfin, SOSH Architects, Sturdy Savings Bank, and Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Media sponsor for the event was Cape May County Herald – Seawave Corporation. Additionally, there were 26 different businesses that were Hole Sponsors and 79 different businesses that donated prizes for the raffle.
Atlantic Cape established the Foundation in 1978 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity to build a broad base of financial support for its programs and services. Foundation members are drawn from local industry and small businesses and represent a broad cross-section of active leaders in the community. The Foundation has raised more than $5 million for scholarships, Foundation operations and to enhance academic programs and the campus environment. Annually, the Foundation provides nearly $500,000 for institutional scholarships, grants and emergency help.
