By Herald Staff

COURT HOUSE — Neil Gallagher, of Avalon, has been named Cape Regional Medical Center’s “Special Touch Volunteer of the Month” for April.
During his weekly assignment, Neil provides service as a busy errand volunteer, providing vital courier and patient discharge assistance through-out the hospital. He has been a part of the volunteer team since the fall of 2006, and has contributed more than 500 hours of service since that time.
“I volunteer each Tuesday with a delightful group of friends and colleagues”, stated Gallagher. “Volunteering is really a way of life for my wife and me.”
Gallagher holds a Ph.D. in Health Education and is a retired college administrator who now enjoys spending free time traveling with his wife, Suzie. The couple has two grown children and a grandchild. They are also very active in their local parish, Maris Stella Roman Catholic Church, where they serve as Eucharistic Ministers.NEIL GALLAGHER
