CAPE MAY – Over 300 guests attended the 2nd annual Ice Ball to benefit the Fund for Cape May (“FFCM”), raising nearly $200,000 this year. The event was held Friday, Feb. 5 at Congress Hall where the hotel’s Ballroom and Grand Lawn was transformed into a magical winter fantasy for the philanthropic celebration. The evening included cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a sumptuous dinner followed by dancing.
The Fund for Cape May is a nonprofit partnership organization for the Cape Island communities of South Jersey. Formally set up just over a year ago by Curtis Bashaw – Co-Owner and Co-Managing Partner of Cape Resorts – its mission is beautification, preservation and providing educational programs that encourage active citizenship in our youth. The Fund for Cape May will join with municipal, public and other nonprofit organizations to accomplish this mission. The Fund’s first project is in coordination with the city of Cape May for the beautification of Rotary Park, enabling upgraded fencing, benches and other amenities.
