Cape May County welcomes its newest indoor gun range, Full Metal Jacket Gun Range! Located at 3018 Rt. 9 in Seaville, this indoor gun range provides shooting lanes, retail, rentals, training and much more.
For brothers and co-owners Keith and Kurtis Woodrow, Full Metal Jacket Gun Range has been five years in the making. Initially, Keith wanted to create an outdoor shooting facility, but after bringing the idea to his brother, they both agreed on an indoor facility. Fast forward five years later, and the dream has finally become a reality.
This dream initially stemmed from the brothers’ childhoods. Keith and Kurtis grew up in North Wildwood, and at 10 years old started going shooting at the local recreation center. Both brothers took that passion with them as they grew older, especially Keith who has been involved in public safety and police, fire and rescue work his entire life.
The brand new state-of-the-art facility boasts climate controlled 25-yard shooting lanes, and a full service-retail area including gun accessories, cleaning kits, gun bags, eye and ear protection, archery equipment and more.
Additionally, Full Metal Jacket Gun Range offers gun rentals, NRA gun safety training, NRA home defense training, NRA youth programs, Boy Scout programs, family gun safety and proper gun handling, an archery range and much more. An archery veteran of 20+ years from the recently closed Fletchers Corner will be working at Full Metal Jacket Gun Range to help get the archery program established.
The facility is extremely focused on firearms safety training and providing the means to practice that training. “Training is the number one thing we want to convey when it comes to gun safety,” explains Keith. “Without training, you are lacking the ability to make educated decisions under extreme pressure.” He added that all instructors are NRA certified, and some are even certified in law enforcement.
Full Metal Jacket Gun Range is currently open to pre-signed-up members. Keith and Kurtis are working with these members to fix any glitches before opening up to the rest of the public. As the final phases of construction are now coming to an end, Full Metal Jacket Gun Range plans to hold a week-long grand opening celebration from Monday, April 17 through Sunday, April 23. Be on the lookout for details!
Keith and Kurtis expect to be busy, as they have received a lot of positive feedback from people in the area who desire the formal training they offer.
