The Cape May County Council for Young Children and Quality Care Resource & Referral, Inc. are holding FREE Heartsaver CPR/AED and basic first aid classes.
Heartsaver AED with Pediatric CPR Course teaches the basic techniques of adult and pediatric CPR and use of an AED. Students also learn to use barrier devices in CPR and give first aid for choking for responsive adult, child and infant victims. This class is ideal for teachers, parents, childcare providers and other rescuers who need or want to learn CPR and how to operate an AED. Certification is through the American Heart Association and is valid for two years.
EMS Basic First Aid teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies.
The Heartsaver CPR/AED class will be on Wednesday, November 4 from 6 – 9 p.m. The EMS Basic First Aid class will be on Monday, November 16 from 6 – 9 p.m. Both classes are located at Whitesboro School House, 100 E.
