CREST HAVEN — The revolution in firefighting has begun. It’s all about saving lives, lowering the cost of property damage and protecting firefighters.
On Dec. 1, 2010, fire chiefs and public safety officials, local, state and federal, will witness a revolutionary fire suppression tool in action. The live demonstration will begin at 6 p.m., at the Cape May County Fire Academy, located at 171 Crest Haven Road in Court House.
A fire will be started and those in attendance will witness the almost instantaneous suppression of the flames and dramatic reduction in temperature.
The DSPA (Dry Sprinkle Powder Aerosol) or what we call “The Fire Knockdown Tool” device is tossed into a room engulfed in flames and within seconds sucks the heat out of the fire. By removing the heat, one of the three essentials of the fire triangle (Oxygen – Fuel – Heat), rescue personnel can more safely enter the fire scene. Lives will be saved and property protected.
The “The Fire Knockdown Tool” releases a non-toxic powder and the emergency services personnel will be able to witness the dramatic reduction in heat and the almost instant suppression of flames during the demonstration.
Police, EMS Units and fire chiefs can easily carry a “The Fire Knockdown Tool” unit in their vehicles and deploy it within seconds of discovering a fire or arriving at the scene of what would normally be a wait for fire fighters and their equipment.
Numerous communities have already equipped emergency responders with the “The Fire Knockdown Tool” and the interest in the device has grown. In response to the growing interest, Breathe Safe Fire & Safety Equipment Company, Warrington, Pa., the distributor of the “The Fire Knockdown Tool” and has arranged for this live demonstration.
Breathe Safe is a fire equipment distributor and has been providing safe solutions for over 22 years. The company was founded by a firefighter, Ben Grove. Mr. Grove has held numerous positions in the volunteer fire service in Bucks County Pa.
“We’re very excited to bring this revolutionary device to the fire service. “’The Fire Knockdown Tool’ is a next generation of technology and will soon be standard equipment for saving lives” according to Grove.
To call firefighting a challenge is clearly an understatement. With the current budget constraint facing municipalities and the shortage of volunteer firefighters, now is the time to deploy “The Fire Knockdown Tool” it will not only save lives and property but will also dramatically reduce the cost of fighting fires.
