Although Yes She Can! celebrated its grand opening in Marmora on Sept. 30, 2017, owner and bra fit specialist Dana Wilson has been instilling confidence in women for quite some time.
Dana’s passion began around seven years ago while reading an article on her lunch hour. “At the time I was working at the Prosecutor’s Office, and one day during my lunch hour I read an article on a woman in Chicago who specialized in bra fittings,” says Dana. “I thought to myself, I can do this… so I called my husband and told him I was quitting my job and selling bras!” While this article gave her inspiration, she had two big reasons for starting this business: one, she always had trouble finding bras that fit her correctly, and two, she needed something that worked for her as a mother of two. With owning a business, Dana could create her own schedule and focus on her family.
Dana began selling bras out of suitcases, driving her van to women’s homes for specialized bra fittings. She did this for seven years, traveling east and south of Philadelphia to help women all over the region.
This past July, a client brought to Dana’s attention an available space in Marmora’s Wayside Village that could potentially become a permanent home for her business. Dana never thought owning her own shop was an option… but then again, her youngest son was going into kindergarten, so she knew she would have extra time and energy to dedicate to the business. She decided to go for it. With a lease that had to start on Sept. 1, Dana worked to put her new store together in just eight shorts weeks.
Dana shares that she absolutely loves helping women, and the new store allows her to help even more. Specializing in ladies’ bras, athletic apparel and swimwear, Yes She Can! strives to help every woman find her perfect fit and instill confidence in everything she does. “A woman’s confidence level soars when she gets into a good fitting bra,” Dana says.
Local women no longer have to go to an overcrowded mall and deal with inexperienced bra fitters. They no longer have to order bras, athletic apparel and swimwear online, and go through the hassle of returning products when they don’t fit right. Dana creates a personal shopping experience for each woman who walks into her shop, making the fitting process quick, easy and painless. Women of all shapes and sizes leave Yes She Can! with supportive apparel that makes them look and feel great.
Yes She Can! offers high quality bras, nursing bras, maternity bras, mastectomy bras, training bras and sports bras in a selection of band sizes 28 to 44 and cup sizes A through K, as well as cup-sized and competitive swimwear, organic, eco-friendly athletic and yoga apparel made in the U.S., sandals, sunglasses and waterproof watches. The shop is open year round Tuesday through Saturday, and is available Sunday evenings for special events and private fittings.
