Fiber Arts Yarn Shop Celebrates 25th

By Sponsored Content

Fiber Arts Yarn Shop, which opened in March 1987 in Cape May Court House, is celebrating our 25th Anniversary Year.
You may have visited Fiber Arts in Cape May Court House, in Cape May, and in West Cape as Vanessa’s Yarn Shop, from 1999-2003, and Fiber Arts Northfield from 2006-09. In May of 2003, we moved to our present location in Cape May, at Washington Common.
During the past 25 years, Fiber Arts has educated over 1,400 new knitters and supplied over 160 knitting machines to knitters in South Jersey. Fiber Arts is also the official supplier of knitting machines to Moore College of Art in Philadelphia. Fiber Arts Yarn Shop is proud to be a fixture in our community, teaching knitting, crocheting, and other Fiber Arts to all ages, from children through retirees.
New Fiber Arts classes begin Jan. 18, continuing on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays throughout the winter and spring. Free parking is provided. We offer free instruction with purchase, and Knitting Doctor services for those needing help with their projects. Ask about our University starting January 19.
Other requested classes are available, so that you can learn to knit seamless garments, fix knitting problems, knit cables, socks from the toe-up, beginning crochet, Fair Isle knitting, and lace. Complete class listings are at www.yarnsRus.net.
All classes are $25 for three two-hour sessions. Did we happen to mention class attendees receive an automatic 10 percent discount on purchases at the shop?
Over the past 25 years, the Yarn Specialists at the shop with help from our Knitting Groups and Friends have done much charitable knitting work.
Some of our projects include: making and raffling Afghans for the Breast Cancer Society & Hurricane Katrina benefit, knitting & Crocheting washable pet rugs for the Animal Welfare Society, Caps for Kids, items for the Christ Child Society, and Preemie-size knits for newborns.
We also offer Open Knitting Groups on Monday and Sundays. You can knit on your own project with the fellowship of other knitters, or knit for one of our charity groups. Call Marie at 609-898-8080 to set up a date for your group.
We offer knitting repairs, cleaning of heirloom knit items, garment finishing services, and knitting of personalized Christmas stockings which we send all over the United States. Shopping discounts are available for guild members, knitting groups, seniors, military, class attendees and teachers.
To begin your knitting adventure, visit the Fiber Arts Yarn Shop at 315 Ocean Street #23 in Cape May, call us at 609-898-8080, or access www.yarnsRus.net.
