NORTH CAPE MAY — Those visiting Cape May from Delaware may want to consider using the Cape May-Lewes Ferry as a foot passenger and leaving their cars at home.
From the ferry terminal in North Cape May, visitors can take a shuttle bus to downtown Cape May for $3. Children under age six, ride for free. The bus operates seven days a week.
For Jersey folks who wish to take a day trip to Delaware, they can purchase a foot passenger ticket for the 80-minute trip across the bay.
Foot passenger tickets are $9.50 for persons over age 14 with a return trip ticket price of $7.50 when purchased together.
Foot passenger fares for children ages 6 to 13 are $4.75 with a return trip fare of $3.75.
Children under age six sail for free.
Bicycles can be brought aboard the ferry sailing from either direction at no charge.
A discount book of six adult foot passenger tickets sells for $42.

Two continuous looping shuttles operate in Delaware, one between Lewes and the ferry terminal and the other among the DART Park and Ride lot, Tanger Outlets (130 brand name stores) with connections to Rehoboth Beach, Georgetown, Long Neck and Dewey/Ocean City, Md.

DART buses transport ferry foot/shuttle passengers at no charge when passengers buy a round-trip ferry/shuttle ticket. All DART buses have bike racks and will carry two bikes at no additional charge.
Passengers are responsible for loading and unloading their bikes at their own risk.
The Cape May Lewes Ferry offers an historic Lewes tour that includes a round-trip foot passenger ticket, shuttle service into Lewes and admission to the historical society complex, Cannonball House Maritime Museum and HMB DeBraak Museum at Zwaadenael Museum.
The fare is $23 for adults, $17 for children six to 13 and free for kids under age 6.
Delaware visitors are offered a similar package that offers shuttle service from North Cape May to Cape May with a guided trolley tour of the city from Mid Atlantic Center for the Arts.
Additional packages are offered to the county zoo, Naval Air Station Wildwood Museum and Historic Cold Spring Village.
