CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Cape Regional Health System has announced that Michael Kammerer, MD, FACS, a fellowship trained bariatric surgeon and board certified general surgeon, will lead their bariatric surgery program beginning in November. Dr. Kammerer will see patients at the Cape Regional Medical Commons in Cape May Court House and joins Cape Regional from Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in Philadelphia.
“We’re pleased to welcome Dr. Kammerer to Cape Regional Physicians Associates,” said Andrea McCoy, M.D., Chief Medical Officer, Cape Regional Health System. “Dr. Kammerer brings extensive experience in bariatric, general and minimally invasive surgery. This expertise will greatly benefit our community.”
Most recently, Dr. Kammerer served as a staff surgeon in the Division of Minimally Invasive, Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals where he helped to develop their bariatric surgery program. In addition, he served as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University and Co-Program Director of the Bariatric Surgery Fellowship Program.
Dr. Kammerer received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine, completed his residency in general surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center and his fellowship in bariatric surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
