WILDWOOD — Family Promise housing advocates of Cape May County will hold its end of the year holiday meeting Dec. 20 at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2810 Atlantic Ave.
The 7 p.m. interfaith gathering will provide networking opportunities around holiday refreshments, committee work-time, and the chance for congregational teams to further define their roles and responsibilities in providing emergency housing for Cape May County families.
The meeting will serve as the group’s holiday celebration in reaching that “critical mass” of participating congregations, necessary to move full-steam ahead with the project.
Additionally, in an effort to facilitate local, new-year congregational planning, the meeting will assist host and support team representatives to identify specific volunteer tasks and start-up activities now able to be shared within their own local congregations.
Family Promise of Cape May County is the local affiliate of the national, Interfaith Hospitality Network.
Its overall goal is to provide temporary, emergency housing and support, through interfaith cooperation, for the County’s homeless children and families.
Through a growing network of advocates, it is expected that Cape May County’s Family Promise will begin housing families no later than early next fall.
Any and all interested residents, and congregations, are invited to participate in this hands-on, county-wide, housing project.
