COURT HOUSE – Estella Klohoker has been named Cape Regional Medical Center’s “Special Touch Volunteer” for the first quarter of 2014.
Ms. Klohoker lives in Ocean City and began her hospital volunteer service in December, 2008. To date, Estella has contributed more than 1,000 hours as an Errand Volunteer. Prior to moving to Ocean City in 1999, Estella lived in Woodbury, New Jersey and worked at General Electric as an Input Operator and Kennedy Memorial Hospital as an Emergency Room Registrar and Key Operator.
“Estella was nominated by several of her co-volunteers because of her reliability as well as someone who is outgoing and good-natured. She is truly dedicated to her service and enjoys being a part of the volunteer team,” stated Julie Paolella, Director of Volunteer Services.
“I am very appreciative for this honor” stated Ms. Klohoker. “I’m not someone who likes a lot of attention, but I must say I enjoy volunteering at Cape Regional Medical Center. I have many friends here and enjoy giving back to our local medical center.” she added. When not volunteering, Estella is dedicated to her part-time job at a local nursing and rehabilitation center as well as temporary clerical agency assignments. Estella also line dances several times each week and also enjoys long, daily strolls on the boardwalk.
During the presentation, Joanne Carrocino, FACHE, President and CEO, Thomas Piratzky, Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing and Julie Paolella, Director of Volunteer Services, joined Estella’s fellow volunteers in honoring her with the Volunteer of the Quarter Award. Estella was presented with flowers, a Special Touch Volunteer pin, gift card and a commemorative plaque.
