CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Jillian Edwards, D.O. and Tooba Fayyaz, D.O. met at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) and quickly discovered they had many of the same interests. That is where the longstanding friendship for these two board-certified neurologists began, and now their journey is bringing them to Cape May County. Both women were studying to become physicians and planned to specialize in Neurology. As physicians, they both value the physician-patient relationship and the continuity of care offered within the specialty of neurology. Amazingly so, their chance meeting led them to be roommates throughout medical school at LECOM as well as fellowship-training at Drexel University College of Medicine. Now both of these talented and extraordinary women will be joining the multi-specialty physician group of Cape Regional Physicians Associates in Cape May Court House, New Jersey in July, 2014.
“There is a genuine need in Cape May County for quality neurological care,” stated Dr. Edwards. “Both Dr. Fayyaz and I are passionate about connecting with our patients and working with them to regain and maintain their quality of life.”
Dr. Edwards grew up in Ocean County close to the beaches in the community of Island Heights. She received her medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her graduate medical education in Neurology at Drexel University College of Medicine and her Internship at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ. Dr. Edwards recently completed her Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Drexel University College of Medicine.
Dr. Fayyaz grew up in Rochester, New York. She received her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Bachelor’s of Science from the State University of New York at Geneseo, New York. Dr. Fayyaz completed her fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology and served her graduate medical education in Neurology at Drexel University College of Medicine and University Hospitals, Case Medical Center.
“Dr. Edwards and I value the importance of family, and so we are excited to have the opportunity to practice neurology together and to share our passion for our patients with the residents of Cape May County,” stated Dr. Fayyaz. “The field of Neurology allows you to examine a person and know exactly what is going on. Often the relationship you have with the patient is ongoing so you become a very important part of the person’s life; this relationship is built on trust.”
“Dr. Fayyaz and Dr. Edwards are talented and compassionate physicians,” stated Dr. William Hofmann, Medical Director of Cape Regional Physicians Associates. “The Cape May County community will benefit greatly from their passion, skills and clinical training.”
Dr. Edwards and Dr. Fayyaz will join the multi-specialty office of Cape Regional Physicians Associates at 11 Village Drive, Cape May Court House, New Jersey.
