COURT HOUSE — Supporting Alex’s Lemonade Stand has become an annual summertime tradition for the children of the Early Education Center at Cape Regional Medical Center. This year marks the fifth annual fundraiser which was held at the end of July. The children set up the lemonade stand in the lobby of the Medical Center, make and serve the lemonade to visitors, patients, and staff.
“The annual event raised $1,200 this year, bringing our five year total to $8,400,” stated Anne Goodman, Director of the Cape Regional Medical Center Early Education Center. “It was a great event, and we want to thank everyone for their continued support of such a worthwhile cause,” Goodman added.
The annual event is held in memory of “Alex” and honors 6 year old Early Education Center graduate and cancer survivor, Brett Staino. The Staino family has been very active in raising money for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Brendan Borek Foundation, and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation as a way to give back to all who have helped them through this difficult time.
