CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE — Shirlene Tolbert Moten, M.D., M.P.H. FAAFP, has joined Cape Regional Physicians Associates, a member of Cape Regional Health System, as Medical Director, Outpatient Physician Practice. Cape Regional Physicians Associates is a multi-specialty medical group comprised of more than fifty-five primary care physicians and specialists delivering services in 13 locations throughout the region.
Dr. Moten, who is board-certified, most recently worked as the Medical Director and CEO of Southside Family Practice in Petersburg, Va., a successful family medical practice that provided healthcare services to more than 10,000 children, adolescents and adults. She also served at Chair and Vice Chair of the Department of Family Medicine at Southside Regional Medical Center. Prior to that role she was Director of Community-Oriented Primary Care and the Residency Director at St. Margaret Memorial Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.
“Dr. Moten will be an excellent addition to Cape Regional,” said Andrea McCoy, M.D., Chief Medical Officer, Cape Regional Health System. “Her clinical skills and expertise in family practice and community health will be a great addition to this region.”
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Moten has served as an assistant clinical professor at James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Va.; Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, Richmond, Va., and the University of Pittsburgh Medical School, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Dr. Moten received her Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health. She earned her Medical Degree from New Jersey Medical School after receiving her Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University, New Brunswick. She completed a fellowship in Academic Family Medicine at St. Margaret Memorial Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.
