Dory Coe, of Wildwood Crest, is the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC) Volunteer of the Month for February 2018. She was nominated by MAC’s Director of Tour Operations Nanci Coughlin. Dory volunteered for all 20 of the Underground Railroad Trolley Tours presented in 2017, beginning on April 29. Co-presented by MAC and the Center for Community Arts (CCA), this new tour offering originated with individuals at CCA, who researched and developed it, then approached MAC to jointly offer it to the public.
“Dory is a very devoted volunteer who committed herself to this new and exciting tour offering,” said Coughlin. “She manned the Coachman Houses during the tours, an important stop in telling the story of the Underground Railroad in Cape May. We have had so much interest in this tour from the beginning, and it continues to sell out regularly. We are thrilled it has been so well-received by the public. Thanks to MAC volunteers like Dory, MAC and CCA can bring this important story to the public. We are so grateful for her enthusiasm, knowledge and commitment.”
