WILDWOOD CREST — Local dignitaries, staff and community members gathered this week at Crest Medical Associates to celebrate the partnership between Dr. Richard Renza’s practice and Community Health Care, Inc. to provide better access to affordable health care for those living in the community.
While Community Health Care, Inc. and Crest Medical Associates have been working together for the past two years, they announced at the event that Crest Medical Associates would be extending the hours in which they will open up their practice to Community Health Care, Inc.’s patients.
“I realized a long time ago that there is a significant segment of the population in our community who needs better access to care,” said Renza, family practitioner at Crest Medical Associates who has been serving the community since 1972.
“We’ve always made it a part of our practice to take care of those on Medicare, unfortunately, not all doctors do. By partnering with Community Health Care, Inc. we can work together to provide the best care possible for these residents.”
Community Health Care, Inc. hosted the partnership celebration event as part of National Health Center Week. The second week of August each year is dedicated to recognizing the service and contributions of Community, Migrant, Homeless and Public Housing Health Centers in providing access to affordable, high quality, cost-effective health care to medically vulnerable and underserved people in the U.S.
This year’s commemoration is special because 2010 also marks the 45th anniversary of the creation of the Health Centers Program.
Community Health Care, Inc. is accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and is a Federally Qualified Health Center which provides Primary medical, dental and mental health services to over 50,000 mostly health uninsured persons annually in Cumberland, Gloucester and Cape May Counties.
Now operating 19 Community and School-based health centers, Community Health Care, Inc. is dedicated to serving the community with accessible, affordable, culturally competent, high-quality health services. For more information visit www.chcinj.org or call 856-451-4700 to make an appointment.
