AVALON – Shake off those winter blues with the annual Shop-A-Holics weekend, March 6-8, in Avalon. Held at The Princeton and The Whitebrier, the much-anticipated event gives shoppers an opportunity to get ready for spring with designers, drinks and deals.
More than 30 stores and boutiques from Avalon and Stone Harbor will be offering deeply discounted items at Shop-A-Holics, which is hosted by the 7 Mile Business Community Association (7MBCA). Shoppers will find a wide selection of designer clothing and shoes, jewelry, accessories, home décor and more from island stores such as Closet Boutique, Global Pursuit, Blufish Designs, People People and Armadillo, Ltd., among many others.
Shop-A-Holics isn’t only for ladies, as Hassis Men’s Shop will have a space for men’s fashions. Tiger Lily will celebrate the weekend with a “Bubbles, Bargains and Baubles” theme. The Avalon Chamber of Commerce will be on hand with the new 2015 brochures and Avalon merchandise, and Coffee Talk will be serving its famous pastries. Plus, don’t forget to grab a cocktail as you shop.
“This is such a great event that has grown over the past eight years,” said Kathy Wierzbicki, the event coordinator. “It’s always a great opportunity to get together with some friends, enjoy some cocktails and take advantage of the huge markdowns offered by the best local stores on 7 Mile Island, all the while supporting a local charity.”
This year’s event will benefit Family Promise of Cape May County. Shoppers are encouraged to pay a $5 cover charge on Friday evening, and donate a toiletry, cleaning product or money on Saturday and Sunday.
Replace your snow boots with your shopping shoes and make sure to include Shop-A-Holics in your weekend plans March 6 from 5 to 9 p.m.; March 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and March 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Princeton is located at 2008 Dune Drive and The Whitebrier is at 260 20th St.
