Dec. Happenings at WheatonArts

MILLVILLE – The holiday-themed interactive activities and special museum store discounts are sure to please visitors of all ages at WheatonArts this month.
All family activities are free. No admission ticket is required to participate. Sunday activities are offered through a PNC Arts Alive grant by The PNC Foundation. Through this grant WheatonArts offers free admission to all children 17 and under. An admission ticket is required to visit the Museum of American Glass and the Artist Studios.
Most activities take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. unless otherwise noted. For more information, visit wheatonarts.org.
■ Dec. 15. Gingerbread Houses with Sweets Suite Culinary Artists. Two sessions – 1 to 2 p.m.
and 2 to 3 p.m. Limited to 20 children in each session. Registration requested. Please call to reserve a seat in advance at 856-825-6800.
■ Dec. 16. Polymer Clay Ornaments. Deck the halls with polymer clay ornaments! Young artists will use cookie cutters and a variety of colors to create ornaments. At-home-baking instructions will be provided. Are you up for an artistic challenge? Use plastic shapes as molds to create three-dimensional ornaments! Suggested for teens and kids.
■ Dec. 22. Watercolor Snowflakes. Coffee filters make the best snowflakes! Celebrate snow just a little longer while experiencing the medium of watercolor. In this easy and fun activity we will use round coffee filters, scissors and watercolors to create eye catching snowflakes to hang in your home. Yarn will be available to create loops for hanging or for creating snowflake garland. Suggested for kids.
■ Dec. 23. Yule Log Creation. Sweets Suite Culinary Artists. Three sessions – 1 to 2 p.m. and 2 to 3 p.m. Limited to 25 children. Registration requested. Please call to reserve a seat in advance at

■ Dec. 29. Edible Snowmen. Sweets Suite Culinary Artists. Three sessions – 1 to 2 p.m. and 2 to

■ Dec. 30. Winter Still Life Drawing. In this fun workshop young artists will learn to draw a still life, a pre-arranged grouping of winter-themed objects. Drawing is the starting point for many creative processes including painting, sculpting and printmaking. Courtney Flynn will guide students through drawing while allowing room for creative expression. Suggested for kids, teens and adults.
A new Museum Store sale begins Dec. 19 and continues through Dec. 31. Merchandise in the Brownstone Emporium Boutique, General Store, Paperweight Shop and The Gallery of Fine Craft will be 30 to 70 percent off (some exclusions apply.) In addition, the stores will also offer 40 to 70 percent off selected merchandise (some exclusions apply.). WheatonArts members’ discount increases from ten to 25 percent for this sales event only.
It is free to shop and stroll at WheatonArts. The Museum Stores will be open seven days a week through Dec. 31 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The stores will be open until 7 p.m. on Dec. 13 and 20.
WheatonArts will be open Tues. through Sun., 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Dec. 30. Closed Christmas Day. An admission ticket is required to visit the Museum of American Glass and Artist Studios. Adults $10.00, $9.00 Senior Adults and $7.00 Students. Children five and under are free. Free admission to all children 17 and under every Sunday through Dec. 30, 2012.
