CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – David Gonnam, Security Officer, has been honored with the Service Excellence of the Month Award at Cape Regional Health System.
“Dave is always kind, calm, and professional with co-workers and patients,” stated Brenda Simonsen in her nomination. “The staff and patients always feel protected and relaxed when Dave is on duty.”
“The staff and volunteers regularly compliment Dave on his kind and pleasant demeanor. He treats our patients and visitors with care, taking time to answer their questions and guiding them to their destination in the Medical Center,” stated Eric Kane, Manager of Security. “Dave’s affiliation with Cape Regional is well known which makes a positive impression of the Medical Center in the community.”
David Gonnam has been a team member at Cape Regional Health System since January, 2013. Prior to joining the team at Cape Regional, Dave served as an Avalon Police Officer for 27 years. Dave is very active in youth-based activities, serving as Basketball and Softball Coach at Dennis Township Recreation Department. He is also very active in his local church, Seaville United Methodist Church. Dave and his wife, Sue, live in Dennis Township. The couple is the proud parents of their daughters, Sheena and Tamara, and their son, David, Jr., who passed away in 2005.
“I live by a quote that my late mother taught me, ‘Treat others how you want to be treated,’” stated Gonnam. “I work hard to be a team player and do things to help make the Medical Center operate smoothly. I try to put myself in the position of the patient and visitor, because I was there with my son so many times during his life. Thank you, again, for this honor. It was unexpected, but definitely appreciated.”
