Curtis Bashaw, Congress Hall owner, and Jack Wright, Cape May publisher of Exit Zero magazine, are the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC) Volunteers of the Month for May 2016. They are exhibit curators for “Tommy’s Folly: The 200th Anniversary of Congress Hall,” which opened April 29 at the Carroll Gallery in the Carriage House at the Emlen Physick Estate. Since 1816, the illustrious Congress Hall has been the summer retreat of American presidents and celebrities, the beloved subject of a John Phillip Sousa march, and the dream-filled destination of Cape May vacationers from all walks of life. This exhibit celebrates this milestone and highlights the history of this renowned hotel. The exhibit is open to the public daily through Oct. 10. Admission is free. “Every year, MAC celebrates a unique feature of Cape May history with our spring exhibit that is open daily through the fall. Curtis and Jack have curated a marvelous exhibit that captures the vibrant spirit of this majestic Cape May icon,” said MAC Director Michael Zuckerman. “We are delighted to celebrate with Congress Hall and honor this historic milestone. We invite everyone to the Carroll Gallery to view this wonderful exhibit.” For gallery hours, call (609) 884-5404 or visit www.capemaymac.org.
