COURT HOUSE — The Cape May County Clerk’s Office will participate in the national outreach Passport Day in the USA with special hours March 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
County Clerk Rita Marie Fulginiti will be open the County Clerk’s Office then to join colleagues at Passport Acceptance Agencies across the United States to celebrate Passport Day in the USA.
Beginning June 1, all U.S. citizens entering the U.S. from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda at land crossings and sea ports can do so only with a Passport Book or Passport Card.
Birth certificates and drivers’ licenses will no longer be acceptable at border crossings.
This deadline is required under the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative www.travel.state.gov .
“These special hours are in place to accommodate passport applicants who may need the added convenience of applying on a weekend.” Fulginiti stated in a release. “We are open for passport applicants, to provide forms and information for travelers.”
