County Chamber Marks 70th Anniversary, Holds Installation

CAPE MAY — Marking its 70th anniversary, Cape May County Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting and installation of officers for the ensuing year for the first time in Cape May Convention Hall Oct. 16.
The evening was a salute to Coast Guard Training Center Cape May, “Birthplace of the U.S. Coast Guard Enlisted Corps.”
Officers installed by Freeholder Director Gerald Thornton were Scott Campbell, chairman, Tom Piratzky, first vice chair, Maura McMahon Primus, second vice chair and Cheryl Wachter, secretary.
Capt. Todd Prestidge, commanding officer, Coast Guard Training Center Cape May was guest speaker. A color guard from the unit’s ceremonial detachment presented the colors at the meeting’s start.
Awards were presented to many members in various categories.
