Congress Hall’s Christmas Tree Donated by Ocean County Family

Congress Hall's Christmas Tree Donated by Ocean County Family

By Press Release

CAPE MAY – After an extensive search, Congress Hall has chosen the tree that will be the centerpiece of its Winter Wonderland celebration! A nearly 30- foot high Fir was cut down in Forked River this morning and transported to Congress Hall in Cape May, where it will be hoisted and adorned with lights on Friday. The tree was entered in the online search by the Sullivan family, who recently bought their home and wanted to remove the tree to have more room in their yard. The Sullivans said they felt guilty about cutting down the beautiful, but huge tree and then learned about Congress Hall’s tree search. They are thrilled to have been selected out of dozens of entries and are happy to see the tree being put to good use. The family will be at Congress Hall for the tree lighting on the Grand Lawn on Friday, Nov. 30 and will enjoy a complimentary overnight stay and be a part of the annual festivities as a way to say thank you for their tree donation.
