CompleteCare Health Network Welcomes Michelle Walsh, LCSW to Cape May County Locations

Michelle Walsh

By Press Release

CompleteCare Health Network is pleased to welcome Michelle Walsh, LCSW to two of their Cape May County locations. Walsh brings over six years of experience as a licensed clinical social worker with her to CompleteCare, having previously worked with AtlantiCare in their behavioral health division, as well as most recently at Mission Healthcare in Atlantic City. She has also worked in private practice for several years.
“Many people do not realize that mental health is a vital part of overall health and wellness. We recognize that it may be difficult for people to ask for help. Our approach is to reach out and ask people how they are doing from a mental health perspective. At CompleteCare, our goal is to incorporate behavioral health counseling as part of our focus on delivering Patient-Centered care,” said Dr. Sandra E. Brooks, Chief Medical Officer at CompleteCare Health Network. “Michelle Walsh will play a vital role in helping us to bring much needed behavioral health services to the community.”
The World Health Organization reports that mental illness is now the leading cause of disability in the United States and Canada, yet sadly, only half of all people who need help seek it. The counseling services offered at CompleteCare are designed to bring more people into care, providing one-on-one meetings with counselors. Patients are invited to seek care for a variety of topics including relationship and family difficulties, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, grief, alcohol and drug use, PTSD, eating disorders and any other subjects that benefit from talking to someone in a confidential and supportive environment.
“We all struggle with something,” said Walsh. “It’s okay to not be okay. There is still a stigma attached to mental illness and addiction, which make it difficult for people to ask for help when they need it most. I encourage patients to be honest with their providers about how they are feeling as this is how we can provide the best possible care.”
As a licensed clinical social worker, Walsh is specially trained to help individuals overcome emotional and mental health issues. She is a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ and also earned her master’s degree in social work from Fordham University in New York, NY.
“I have always enjoyed helping others and had an interest in social work. I explored many career options before my personal experiences brought me back to this field,” said Walsh. “Being a therapist gives me the opportunity to utilize the most challenging things I have been through in my life to help others.”
In her free time, Walsh enjoys playing with her children, jewelry making, arts and crafts, writing, visiting thrift stores and listening to music.
To schedule an appointment with Walsh at either the Cape May Court House CompleteCare site, located at 3 Broadway, or the Wildwood Medical & Dental Professionals location at 3700 New Jersey Avenue in Wildwood, call (609) 465-0258 or visit CompleteCareNJ.org.
