FOLSOM — On Feb. 11, South Jersey Gas was recognized by the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Southern Branch as one of a number of Hunger’s Heroes, in acknowledgment of the utility’s support in recent years.
Sharon Pennington, vice president of South Jersey Industries and a member of the board of directors for the FoodBank, accepted the award, according to a release.
“We are grateful for SJG’s continued support of the FoodBank,” said Evelyn Benton, branch director of the FoodBank. “As a result of their generosity, and the support of a number of other organizations and individuals, the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Southern Branch, can continue to provide much needed food supplies to charities in Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland counties, serving those in need.”
