Community Food Closet of Cape May Benefits from Friends of the Physick Estate’s ‘Free Friday Tours’ in March

The Friends of the Physick Estate, an affinity group of the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC), dropped off donations of food and personal care items this spring to benefit the Community Food Closet of Cape May at the Cape May Presbyterian Church. The items were collected on Fridays in March when the Friends gave free tours of the 1879 Emlen Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St., in exchange for donations of items worth at least $5. The free tours were held on Fridays, March 4, 11 and 18 and dozens of visitors to the estate took advantage of the opportunity to take a guided tour of Cape May’s only Victorian house museum in exchange for donations that included much-needed pantry items, toiletries or paper goods worth at least $5, as well as cash donations.
