Comcast Expands Hispanic Programming into Cape May County

By Press Release

COURT HOUSE — Comcast continues to expand its programming for Hispanic communities in parts of Southern New Jersey with the addition of more than 20 new Hispanic networks.
The additions include Gran Cine, HTV Musica, La Familia, Mexicanal, TeleFormula and TVE, just to name a few. The networks are now being offered as part of Comcast’s recently introduced MultiLatino packages, which currently deliver a selection of 40 Hispanic channels to area customers, along with a choice of English networks, video on demand and Triple Play bundles.
The new channels are available to customers in Comcast’s Avalon, Wildwood, Pleasantville and Vineland systems.
“Comcast is dedicated to providing our customers with programming that reflects their unique and diverse interests,” said Amy Smith, regional senior vice president for Comcast. “As we continue to expand our multicultural lineup, we aim to provide our growing Hispanic audience with more choice and value, along with the programming that matters most to them.”
Comcast offers a variety of MultiLatino packages to meet its customers’ needs and budgets, including video-only options and Triple Play packages that include Comcast High-Speed Internet and Digital Voice services, as well as HD and premium channel choices. In addition, MultiLatino customers have access to Comcast’s signature On Demand service, which offers thousands of entertainment programs each month (with the vast majority available at no additional cost) and boasts more than 250 choices of Hispanic On Demand programming, available to watch any time, with the ability to pause, fast-forward and rewind. Comcast has also increased its On Demand Dual Audio offering (English and Spanish) with a goal of offering most new, major box office releases in both languages moving forward. Comcast’s On Demand service features everything from movies, music and top TV shows to the most popular kids, sports, lifestyle and local programs.
The Hispanic network additions are made possible by Comcast’s “World of More” digital service enhancement, which is rolling out neighborhood by neighborhood across the country and recently arrived in the area. As part of the initiative, Comcast is moving some of its analog channels to digital format to free up bandwidth on its network to deliver more HD and other programming, faster Internet service, the ultimate in digital video and sound and much more for its customers. Comcast “World of More” markets are also being introduced to XFINITY, the new brand for Comcast’s technology platform, products and services. XFINITY represents Comcast’s promise to keep innovating and its investment to enhance its products and services so its customers can enjoy the best entertainment and communications choices wherever they are, whenever and however they want.
Comcast also offers the “Comcast Latino” broadband portal offering Spanish-language content to Comcast High-Speed Internet customers at http://comcast.terra.com.
