The Cape May County Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation awarded $5000 to local high school graduates.
The Chamber’s Scholarship Committee received 25 applications submitted through an on-line application and selected 7recipients. The 2016 scholarship recipients are: Bruce Bruner (Cape May Co. Technical High School), Ricky Ankrum (Cape Christian Academy), Colin Stewart (Ocean City High School), Molly McNulty (Wildwood Catholic High School), Caroline Roth (Cape May Co. Technical High School), Blake Brown (Middle Township High School), Kelly Suter (Lower Cape May Regional), and AnaGrace Fangayen (Middle Township High School).
The Chamber’s Education Foundation raises scholarship money through a golf tournament and individual business donations. “Presenting these high school graduates with a scholarship to help offset their future education expenses is a very rewarding experience,” reported Maura McMahon Primus, President of the Chamber’s Education Foundation.
The Cape May County Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation is a separate 501 (c) 3 organization whose mission is to support, enhance and promote education and training programs that develop the skills, knowledge and leadership of our local professionals and youth in order to advance the county’s talent, entrepreneurial spirit and economic growth.
In addition to high school graduate scholarships, the CMCCEF also provides scholarship funds to a student at Atlantic Cape Community College. The Foundation supports professional development programs like the Jersey Cape Experience, Serving Dreams in 2016 customers service training held this spring and this fall, will introduce a new scholarship opportunity for individuals in the Cape May County Technical School Adult Education program.
