The Cape May County Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation will honor Dr. Peter Mora at the annual FORE Education Golf Tournament on June 8. Dr. Mora recently retired as the President of Atlantic Cape Community College after a prestigious 41 year career at the college.
The addition of honoring an individual at the Chamber Education Foundation golf tournament is new in 2017. “There are many golf tournaments held throughout the area that benefit various causes. Our cause is to support, enhance and promote education and training programs that develop the skills, knowledge and leadership abilities of local professionals and youth in order to advance the county’s talent, entrepreneurial spirit and economic growth,” says Maura McMahon Primus, President of the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation. “The Chamber Education Foundation is proud to embrace this opportunity to honor an individual who has distinguished themselves by supporting education in Cape May County.”
During his tenure at Atlantic Cape Community College, Mora, an Upper Township resident, was instrumental in the opening of the Cape May County campus, changing the name from Atlantic County College to Atlantic Cape Community College, and introducing high school dual/concurrent credit programs with local high schools. With the opening of the Cape May County campus, Dr. Mora supported many partnerships with the business community to provide easy access to business and professional development seminars.
The Cape May County Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday, June 8 at Avalon Golf Club with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. Interested golfers and sponsors can visit www.capemaycountychamber.com/golf or call (609) 465-7181 ext. 104.
