CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Cathy Mark of Dennisville, New Jersey has been named Cape Regional Medical Center’s “Special Touch Volunteer” for the first quarter of 2016. Cathy, a retired Cape Regional Medical Center (Environmental Services) employee for five years, began her Health System volunteer service in 2011. To date, she has diligently contributed more than 1,200 hours of volunteer service in Histology, Tumor Registry, Errand Room, Surgical Waiting Area and currently, as a Desk Ambassador in the South Lobby.
“I was overwhelmed with such recognition, especially since I volunteer among the finest group of special people I call my friends–from my peers to each medical center member–we all come together as a team. My passion has always been to make a difference wherever needed. Besides the love for my family, I love to enjoy just the simple things in life such as laughter, sunshine, the beach, music and dancing. Thank you for this incredible honor,” stated Ms. Mark.
Cathy has a real zest for life, loving to stay active; Cathy enjoys exercising at Fit for Life Gym at Cape Regional, Zumba and line dancing. She also works part-time as a Rental Agent at Chris Henderson Real Estate is very active with the Ladies Auxiliary for the Knights of Columbus, a charitable organization, and she has a special love for volunteering at National Cancer Survivors Day each June. Above all else, Cathy loves spending time with her son, Christopher, daughter, Marcella, and her three grandsons and one granddaughter.
During the award presentation, Thomas Piratzky, Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing, Julie Paolella, Director of Volunteer Services, and her nominators, the Security Officers at Cape Regional Medical Center, joined with Cathy’s fellow volunteers to honor her with the Volunteer of the Quarter Award. Cathy was presented with flowers, a Special Touch Volunteer pin, gift card and commemorative plaque.
