CapeBank Foundation Donates $50,000

By Herald Staff

COURT HOUSE — On Dec. 19, CapeBank Charitable Foundation made a $50,000 grant to the Cape Regional Medical Center Foundation.
That donation represents a pledge to match individual donations made by members of Cape Regional Medical Center Medical Staff, as well as members of Cape Cares, the employee volunteer program established by Cape Bank, according to a release.
The grant was made in support of the Cape Regional Medical Center Foundation three-year “Raising the Standard of Healthcare… One Floor at a Time” capital campaign. The $2.2-million campaign has already raised $2.1 million of that total with the help of prominent members of the local community.
“The unwavering support from organizations like the CapeBank Charitable Foundation is vital to helping us continue to offer the very best health care services for the men, women and children of our community,” said Tom Piratzky, vice president of marketing and public relations for Cape Regional Medical Center Foundation. “This assistance and support has made it possible to continually improve and update many patient care areas in our facilities. We are very grateful to the CapeBank Charitable Foundation for this generous donation.”
Since its inception in January 2008, the CapeBank Charitable Foundation has awarded more than $344,000 to more than 90 area non-profit organizations, including the American Red Cross (Atlantic and Cape May County chapters), Cape Regional Medical Center Foundation, the Community Food Bank of New Jersey and the Big Brothers & Big Sisters program.
“Cape Bank is committed to supporting key health initiatives in the southern New Jersey communities where our employees live and work,” said Herbert L. Hornsby Jr., president and chief executive officer of Cape Bank. “We are proud to invest in Cape Regional Medical Center, which is pioneering treatment advances that ultimately benefit us all.”
