COURT HOUSE — Cape Regional Medical Center celebrated the grand opening of the newly renovated Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on July 11. The ICU is located on the second floor of the Medical Center
Susan Atkinson DeLanzo, mayor of Middle Township, cut the ribbon along with Dr. Richard Michner, president of the Medical Staff, Joanne Carrocino, president & CEO, and board members representing the Medical Center, Foundation and Auxiliary.
DeLanzo presented Doreen Deckert, director of intensive care with a plaque from of Middle Township’s Committee commemorating the grand opening.
“On behalf of the Township of Middle and all the surrounding communities, I want to thank Cape Regional Medical Center for always looking to provide superior healthcare to our residents and visitors,” stated DeLanzo. “The new Intensive Care Unit is beautiful, and we congratulate you on this great accomplishment.”
Renovation of the Intensive Care Unit began in December of 2010 and was completed in July, 2011. “These much needed renovations and upgrades provide an attractive and up-to-date facility with a more comfortable and efficient environment for our patients as well as our nurses and healthcare providers,” stated Deborah Baehser, vice president of Patient Services.
“We are grateful to the Cape Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and the numerous donors to the Cape Regional Medical Center Foundation for making this project a reality.” The Cape Regional Medical Center Auxiliary made a $1 million contribution to the project.”
