RIO GRANDE – Committed to providing the best quality care for patients, Cape Regional Health System is offering the latest, state-of-the-art mobile Siemens Biograph Horizon PET/CT system at Cape Regional Radiology in Rio Grande. This is the only facility in Cape May County to provide this advanced technology.
Designed with premium technologies that set the standard in PET/CT imaging, this new imaging system produces high-quality images with outstanding resolution, making it easier for physicians to identify small lesions in their earliest stages. The PET/CT scan is also used to monitor patients’ response to therapy. Another benefit of the system is its time-of-flight software that allows for a reduced radiation dose and scan time.
“We are excited to be the only radiology facility in Cape May County to offer the Biograph Horizon PET/CT to area patients,” says Louis J. Capecci, M.D., Chairman of the Department of Radiology at Cape Regional Health System. “This advanced technology enables our facility to identify the smallest of lesions as early as possible, and supports a more accurate diagnosis and more personalized treatment options for patients.”
The PET/CT scan can also support a more effective care pathway for lung cancer patients. When it is incorporated into the initial evaluation for lung cancer, PET/CT can help clinicians accurately stage disease and evaluate therapy response.
