CAPE MAY – Cape May – Lewes Ferry (CMLF) officials announced the selection of Michael F. McNally of Corydon, Kentucky, as the new Assistant Director Ferry Operations. Mr. McNally, who began his duties April 1, 2015, reports to Heath Gehrke, Director of Ferry Operations.
According to Heath Gehrke, Director of Ferry Operations, Mr. McNally was chosen as a result of a nationwide search. “Mick has a unique combination of marine expertise, project management experience, operational skills and leadership ability that will prove valuable to the Cape May – Lewes Ferry operation,” Gehrke said. “We’re fortunate and pleased to have him on-board as our new Assistant Director of Ferry Operations. He’s a great addition to our team.”
As the Assistant Director of Ferry Operations, Mr. McNally will be responsible for strategic planning, project management, maintenance planning, capital projects, drafting and enacting standard operating procedures, and coordination of workforce training efforts. In the absence of the Director of Ferry Operations, Mr. McNally will also take on those responsibilities.

I will work hard to maintain the proud traditions of the Cape May-Lewes Ferry. It’s a tremendous opportunity.”
During his early career, Mr. McNally oversaw the construction of three riverboat casinos and sailed as Mate and Captain aboard high capacity passenger vessels for many years on the Ohio River. Immediately prior to joining the CMLF, Mr. McNally was the Director of Operations at the Evansville Vanderburgh County Building Authority where he was responsible for the management and construction of the new Ford Center, an 11,000 seat multi-use arena. In 2008, he served as the Director of Facilities and Marine Services for Casino Aztar in Evansville, Indiana, a position he held for more than three years.
A graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Transportation, Mr. McNally holds a U.S. Coast Guard license as Unlimited Inland Master (Any Gross Tons) and Third Mate Oceans (Any Gross Tons).
