CAPE MAY — The Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cape May is proud to announce that Cape May has been picked as a great destination for families.
“When choosing the top family-friendly beaches, we consider a number of factors – it’s not just beautiful sands and picturesque views,” explains Lissa Poirot, editor-in-chief of Family Vacation Critic. “Beyond clean, safe beaches, we’re looking for beaches that offer a well-rounded experience for families – accommodations, dining and entertainment within close distance of the beach, and plenty to keep the whole family entertained while in town.”
They go on to say, Cape May is a combination of historic charm and modern fun. Build sandcastles and visit an old lighthouse during the day, then stroll down Washington Street and play a round of mini-golf at night. You can rent cabanas and boogie boards at the beach, and restrooms and lifeguards are stationed throughout the area. While Cape May is well known for fairytale B&Bs, Beachfront Hotel and Motels are also options for accommodations.
Families can enjoy free “Movies on the Beach” on Thurs. evenings, mid-July through late-Aug. Showings are presented near Convention Hall (or inside Convention Hall when it rains).
“We are delighted to have Cape May named as a Top 10 beach for families and happy to continue to promote all Cape May has to offer to our visitors,” commented Ronald Goldstein, President of The Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cape May.
