COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Department of Tourism is asking summer visitors to “Fall for the Jersey Cape,” in a post season marketing campaign that is now in its third year of implementation.
The Boomerang Campaign as it is called is a fairly simple premise. The idea is to market fall, holiday and spring getaways to consumers to get them to come back to the County for another vacation.
“We are using incentives, offers and deals the local business community has already devised as the call-to-action to bring our visitors back,” explained Diane Wieland, director of Tourism for the Cape May County Department of Tourism. “We want to capture the excitement that visitors feel while they are here in the summer in hopes of getting them to spend their off-season getaway plans with us,” Wieland added.
The main feature of the Boomerang Campaign is a website created by the Department using the URL www.fallforthejerseycape.com. The website will include incentives, offers and special events that are scheduled after Labor Day through spring, 2014.
“We are turning the post season marketing campaign into a promotion that uses incentives developed by the Cape May County business community as the message marketed on one dedicated website,” explained Wieland.
In addition to the website, the Department of Tourism has redirected its post season advertising campaign including local radio, Internet and print buys to market the “Fall for the Jersey Cape” URL and the Boomerang campaign message.
“It is free exposure for the participating businesses that are looking for cost-effective ways to get the information out to the visiting public,” Wieland added.
