The Cape Harmonaires, comprised of singers from Cape May County and the surrounding area, are the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC) Volunteers of the Month for March 2016. The Cape Harmonaires perform Christmas songs and carols during Holiday Preview Weekend at the Emlen Physick Estate in Cape May as part of the annual Community Tree Lighting Ceremony. Every year since the first Community Tree Lighting Ceremony in 2006, they have performed for free to hundreds of visitors who come to the estate welcoming the start of the Holiday Season in Cape May. Mary Stewart, MAC’s Chief Outreach Officer, nominated the Cape Harmonaires for the honor to recognize their talent, dedication and service and the delight they bring to hundreds each year with their resounding voices. “The Cape Harmonaires spread joy through song and we are delighted to share that joy with the community every year,” said Stewart. “Their participation is a wonderful part of this annual Cape May tradition and we truly appreciate them volunteering their time and sharing their talent.” The Cape Harmonaires perform regularly throughout the year at various locations and their schedule can be found on their website: www.harmonize.com/capeharmonaires. The Volunteer of the Month award is given to a person or persons demonstrating a high degree of dedication, commitment and constancy to the MAC organization.
