CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – On Thursday, September 15, 2016, Cape GOP held a “Wine and Dine” event at Willow Creek Winery in West Cape May. Attendees sampled Willow Creek’s delicious wines and participated in a program honoring the work and efforts of the Cape May County affiliate of Habitat for Humanity.
Shawn Lockyear, the Director of Habitat for Humanity, was presented with donation checks to fund ongoing work from the Morey Organization, Willow Creek Winery, the Middle Township Republican Organization and the Cape GOP. The donors expressed their appreciation for the valuable services provided by Habitat for Humanity.
Additionally, Shawn was recognized for her outstanding leadership and accomplishments as Habitat’s Director by the donors, Freeholder Director Gerald Thornton and Freeholder Marie Hayes.
In turn, Ms. Lockyear thanked Dan Lockwood, Tim Donohue and Cape GOP Chairman Marcus Karavan for their aid in completing numerous Habitat projects in Middle Township over the past several years.
Also present was Andrew Bulakowski of the Northeast Carpenters’ Union who pledged on behalf of the Union to aid Habitat with regard to ongoing projects.
Ms. Lockyear indicated that these donations were fortuitously provided at a time when Habitat is beginning a major fundraising initiative. Members of the public are encouraged to aid this worthwhile organization and the valuable work that they provide.
