CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE — The Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation accepted a check for $1,930 from Burke Motor Group March 31 at Burke Motors in Cape May Court House. The funds were raised through Subaru’s Share the Love Program, which ran during the last few months of 2016. New car buyers were given the opportunity to direct a $250 donation from Subaru to one of four national charities and/or one “hometown” charity. Burke Motors selected Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation as its hometown charity.
In addition to the Subaru fundraising activities, Atlantic Cape students Josh Maldonado and Tapan Desai contacted local businesses and organizations asking them to support the initiative by donating school supplies. As a result, Atlantic Cape received hundreds of donated pens, pencils, notebooks and other items that will be distributed to students.
Atlantic Cape established the Foundation in 1978 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity to build a broad base of financial support for its programs and services. Foundation members are drawn from local industry and small businesses and represent a cross-section of active leaders in the community. The Foundation has raised more than $3 million for scholarships, Foundation operations and to enhance academic programs and the campus environment. Annually, the Foundation provides institutional scholarships, grants and emergency help.
