The students at Bishop McHugh School are creating a S.T.R.E.A.M. Garden, a beautiful place to learn and pray at the school’s campus in Cape May Court House, N.J. The garden’s design incorporates brick pavers to create a pathway that will travel along the 14 Stations of the Cross.
The garden was part of a multi-year, schoolwide project incorporating S.T.R.E.A.M. (science, technology, religion, engineering, the arts and mathematics). Students in grades K-8 contributed to the garden, learning about horticulture, and taking turns at planting and weeding. Students also used math, science, engineering and Religion in their design of the garden. Currently, the garden is in its final phase of design. The students are selling pavers to help fund continuing maintenance and pay for shrubs, plants and flowers.
Paver bricks are $50 each and may be engraved to honor or memorialize a loved one. For more information, visit www.bishopmchugh.com, click “donate” along the top menu, and then S.T.R.E.A.M. Garden. For more information, contact Anita McMahon at a_mcmahon@hotmail.com or (215) 570-9623.
