Shown here at the World War II Lookout Tower (Fire Control Tower No. 23) at Sunset Boulevard in Lower Township, Bob Familetti of Cape May is the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC) Volunteer of the Month for April 2018.
Bob was nominated by MAC Chief Outreach Strategist Mary Stewart for the lecture he researched and presented as part of the Friends of the World War II Tower lecture series on Vietnam this year. Bob presented the richly illustrated lecture, “50 Years Later: 1968 and the Vietnam War – Fortification of Hué and the Turning of the War,” on March 10 at Cape May Lutheran Church. The year 1968 was pivotal in both Vietnamese and United States history. A Vietnam veteran and retired Army colonel (1963-1995), Bob was ideally suited to present this information.
“We appreciate Bob creating such a well-researched and compelling presentation,” said Stewart. “As someone who lived the Vietnam experience, he was ideally suited for it, and generously agreed to do so; but additionally, he succeeded in creating an excellent resource for those interested in this time in our history,” she said. “We greatly appreciate his effort, dedication and service.”

Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
