CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Beverly Righter, Registered Nurse on the Intensive Care Unit, is Cape Regional’s DAISY Award honoree for the third quarter of 2016. Beverly has been a member of the Cape Regional Team since 2014.
The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary, compassionate and skillful care given by nurses every day. Cape Regional Health System is proud to be a DAISY Award Partner, recognizing caring and compassionate nurses quarterly with this special honor.
Ms. Righter was nominated by the family of a grateful patient who was under her care in the Intensive Care Unit at Cape Regional Medical Center. The nomination states, “Beverly had a calm and reassuring presence that made us, and most importantly my brother, feel safe. She assured us that my brother was in good hands, and boy was she right. I believe that through Beverly’s knowledge and commitment to her nursing practice, she was able to detect a concern regarding my brother’s blood pressure medications; after being addressed, there was a remarkable change in his condition. Beverly’s attention to detail ensured his road to recovery. I am forever grateful. During his stay in the ICU, Beverly provided a personal touch to the care she provided. He would smile and laugh at her comments, especially at meal time when she injected his IV bag with his nutrition, saying, ‘Here is a shot of some steak and potatoes.’ Seeing him smile also made me feel comfortable, less anxious and assured me that he was safe and receiving the best care possible. It must be said that the Cape Regional’s nursing staff are some of the best! I was truly impressed with the many nursing introductions; however I must say that Beverly was a real standout.”
Ms. Righter graduated from Cumberland County College’s Nursing Program and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University. Ms. Righter is married and has two children.
“Receiving the DAISY award makes me feel good in knowing my patients feel I provide exceptional care, as that is what I strive for. I took care of this patient for three days, working really hard to bring his spirits up, and I’m happy to see my persistence paid off and he and his family were happy with my care,” stated Beverly Righter, RN.
“We are so proud of Beverly and so thankful that she always exemplifies Cape Regional Health System’s service standards of being positive, engaged and proactive. She is a wonderful example and role model for the entire team in the Intensive Care Unit,” stated Deborah Baehser, MSHA, Vice President of Patient Services. “Congratulations, Beverly, on receiving the DAISY Award-it is well deserved!”
