THE WILDWOODS – Morey’s Piers’ Denise Beckson has earned the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Meritorious Service Award.
Mario Mamon, of the Enchanted Garden in the Philippines, presented Denise with the award this morning at the IAAPA expo in Orlando, Florida. The Meritorious Service Award is presented in recognition of an individual’s service to or for the association, which advances the IAAPA mission of serving the membership by promoting safe operations, global development, professional growth and commercial success of the amusement parks and attractions industry.
Denise has worked for Morey’s Piers seasonally since 1986 and full time since 1999, currently as Director of Waterpark Operations and Human Resources. Her involvement with IAAPA began in 1997. Denise has been an advocate for seasonal businesses in New Jersey, meeting with U.S. State Department officials, State Legislators and members of the United States Congress to educate them and shape legislative and regulatory policies to protect the attractions industry.
For IAAPA, Denise has served on the Membership Committee, was chairperson of the Waterparks Committee, currently serves as a member of the Government Relations and Education Committee and has shared her expertise at countless expo seminars.
