Beachcomber Camping Resort’s ‘Fun-Raiser’ Supports Police K-9 INvest Project

K-9 check donation

By Press Release

CAPE MAY – On behalf of Beachcomber Camping Resort and the Brodesser/Gomez Families, Ken and Tammy Gomez (Owners), Linda Kusko (Snack Cabana Operator) and Matt Kopf (Snack Cabana Operator) presented a check for $1,200 to Cape May County Sheriff’s Officers K-9 Unit. This marked the 1st year Beachcomber Camping Resort has held a “fun-raising” effort to benefit the Police K-9 INvest Project.
Linda Kusko has been a seasonal camper at Beachcomber for many years which makes Cape May much more than just a vacation spot for her. Linda manages the Beachcomber Snack Cabana which is located right on the beach. She and Matt, both animal lovers, are also both from police families. In light of recent attacks against police officers throughout the country, they were concerned about protecting the K-9s. They displayed a “donation jar” at the Snack Cabana and many generous campers helped raise $1,200 for the Police K-9 INvest Project.
Tom Brodesser (Founding Owner of Beachcomber Camping Resort) who is a dog owner recalls his work as the North Cape May Rotary Chief back in 1969. Fundraising for the community is a large part of the Rotary Club and Beachcomber Camping Resort. The goal in 1969 was to help jump-start the Lower Township K-9 Unit with two K-9s. Tom is proud to keep the tradition going in 2016 by supporting the Cape May County Sheriff K-9s with this generous donation.
