Beachcomber Camping Resort Donates to Cape May County Animal Shelter & Adoption Center

Animal Shelter

By Press Release

CAPE MAY – Beachcomber Camping Resort donated $426.26 along with various canned goods and pet supplies to the Cape May County Animal Shelter on Dec. 8, 2015. This year, Beachcomber collected donations during their 16th Annual Krazy Costume Polar Bear & 3nd Annual Pup Plunge, Spring and Fall Activities and End of Year Dinner, as well as in a donation box that is kept in the store all season. Throughout the Spring and Fall, Campers will “pay” for different activities and events by donating canned pet food, dry pet food, blankets, towels and toys for the Cape May County Animal Shelter.
This well known, local campground started proudly announcing through email and social media as early as January that they would be holding a Polar Bear & Pup Plunge to help raise money for the local Animal Shelter. Opening weekend, during the Annual Plunge, campers, friends and pups of Beachcomber Camping Resort were eager to help share their support by collecting sponsorships All camping pups, as well as campers, were invited to collect sponsors and take a plunge in the lake (with their owners) in hopes of more donations and shared support. There was a great turnout, including local media coverage, and the campers and pups really enjoyed the event.
A few weeks before the event, Beachcomber contacted the Cape May County Animal Shelter and asked if they would like to bring a few dogs to “go jump in the lake” and play with the other pups. Two members of the shelter were more than happy to come to the event and introduce two dogs up for adoption, both wearing “Adopt Me!” shirts. Campers and employees were ecstatic to meet these fine pups representing the Shelter.
With the support of many campers and friends of Beachcomber Camping Resort over the past few years, the campground has donated over $1600 to the Animal Shelter as well as numerous supplies. Many of Beachcomber’s employees are pet lovers themselves and were excited to share these events with campers. The resort decided to give to the Cape May County Animal Shelter & Adoption Center in hopes that it may help get the animals adopted or, at the very least, give the animals a happy and comfortable life.
