Barbara Ryan Appointed Manager of Transitions in Care at Cape Regional Medical Center

COURT HOUSE – Barbara Ryan has been appointed Manager of Transitions in Care at Cape Regional Medical Center. In her new role, Ms. Ryan will develop a comprehensive program between patients, families and healthcare service providers to prevent hospital readmissions of patients diagnosed with congestive heart failure, pneumonia, or myocardial infarction.
Ms. Ryan joined the team at Cape Regional Medical Center in 1982 as Assistant Director of Social Work Case Management. She was promoted to Director of Social Work Case Management in 1986 and has served in this capacity since that time. Barbara earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Florida and Master’s Degree in Human Development from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
“Transitions in Care is a new initiative being implemented at the Medical Center,” stated Diana Stover, MSN, Vice President of Clinical Services. “Barbara’s 30 years of healthcare social work, case management, and discharge planning expertise uniquely qualifies her for developing and implementing this program which will greatly benefit our patients and our healthcare community.”
