Awards Given, Officers Take Oaths, County Chamber Marks Centennial

Officers and directors of Cape May County Chamber of Commerce take oaths of office from Freeholder Director Gerald Thornton Oct. 20 at Icona Golden Inn

AVALON – Award presentations highlighted the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce’s 72nd annual meeting and installation Oct. 20 at Icona Golden Inn. The event also marked the chamber’s centennial.
Continuing into his second year as board chairman was Tom Piratzky. Officers and directors took oaths from Freeholder Director Gerald Thornton. Officers were Maura McMahon Primus, first vice chair; Tom Hutchinson, second vice chair; Cheryl Pivola, secretary; Scott Campbell, treasurer, and immediate past chair; Vicki Clark, president.
Awards:
Member of the Year: TD Bank, Court House.
Business of the Year: Eustace Mita and the Icona Resorts Group, Cape May County.
Distinguished Membership: Coldwell Banker Laricks Real Estate, Sea Isle City.
Volunteer of the Year: Maggie Warner, Morey’s Piers and Beachfront Water Parks, Wildwood.
Cape May County Betterment Award: Atlantic Cape Community College, Court House Campus.
Golden Whelk Tourism: Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority, Wildwood.
Serving Dreams Customer Service: Adventurer Oceanfront Inn, Wildwood Crest.
Young Professional Award: Amy Mahon, Reich Asset Management, Marmora.
Veteran in Business Leadership: Mark Allen, South Jersey Marina, Cape May.
New Business: Cape May Distillery, Green Creek.
Historic Preservation Award: The Chalfonte Hotel, Cape May.
Conservation: Dog-Friendly Billmae Cottage, Cape May, Cartridge World, Rio Grande.
