Avalon Offers Holiday Beach Tags

By Press Release

The Borough of Avalon will once again offer special holiday beach tags, starting Friday, Nov. 26 during the “Festive Friday” celebration that precedes the Borough’s annual tree lighting event.
The special holiday beach tags will cost $20 which includes a decorative box for gift-giving. The beach tags will be “seasonal” tags that can be used during the entire 2011 beach season in Avalon.
As a convenience for the public, these tags do not have to be turned in for the new 2011 beach tags; they can be used as actual beach tags next year.
The holiday beach tags will be on sale at the Avalon Rescue Squad between 30th and 31st streets along Dune Drive. Agnes Kelly, the supervisor of Avalon’s beach tag program, will be selling the tags at the rescue squad between the hours of 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 26.
The tags will also be on sale next to Veterans Plaza at the Avalon Tree Lighting Celebration later in the day, from 4-7 p.m.
A limited number of beach tags will be available this holiday season, and will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Cash and checks will be accepted as payment.
The Borough will not accept requests via mail or telephone due to the limited number of holiday beach tags available.
In the event the special holiday beach tags are not sold out on Nov. 26, tags will be on sale at the Avalon Tax Collector’s office located inside Avalon Borough Hall, 3100 Dune Drive, while quantities exist. Borough Hall is open Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m.-4:15 p.m., except holidays.
The holiday beach tags are made by the Jersey Cape Diagnostic, Training, and Opportunity Center, Inc.
