AVALON – The Avalon Lions highlighted their monthly meeting with two check presentations to charities located in Cape May County.
$3,000 went to Cape Counseling, an organization that helps thousands of area residents and families with a variety of services aimed at issues including mental health, family and youth counseling.
A second check for $1,000 was presented to the Citizens/Veterans Advisory Council of Cape May County (CVAC) to help feed, clothe and shelter homeless and needy veterans.
The two recipients are just part of the more than a dozen area charities supported by the Lions, a 501(c) 3 tax exempt foundation.
